It’s official: caseable has launched!

Happy Halloween folks,

Today is definitely a day to celebrate, not just because of Halloween, but also because caseable has launched its restricted beta phase. YEAH, after so many months of hard work and countless sleepless nights we are finally there! That means that a few lucky people will have the exclusive chance to test our website and order the first products over the next couple of weeks. If you want to be a part of it, please sign up for our email list on www.caseable.com.

Team Portrait: Jonathan

It’s already week 3 of our blogbuster series Team Portraits. This week it’s time for our Marketing and PR intern Jonathan to introduce himself:

1. Tell us a little about yourself?

I was born and raised in good old Germany – Yeeaaaaah. After high school
I decided to study Investment Banking/Finance and that’s what made me come to the Big Apple. When I’m not working and in school, which is 90% of my time, I just like to chill and take it easy.
I love Entourage and Johnny Drama is the king!!!!

2. What’s your job at caseable?

I am the Marketing/PR intern at caseable.
I support the US Marketing team and as soon as we start to sell in Germany as well, I’ll also be involved with the German Marketing/PR.

3. What super hero ability would you like to have?

Definitely teleportation- so I could easily travel between Germany and New York. Also I wouldn’t have to be on a plane for 8 hours and I would save some $$$$$.

4. What is your sport?

My favorite sport is either Soccer or Basketball. Loved the World Cup and Germany kicked some asses. Greeting out to England and Argentina.

5. What’s it like working for caseable?

It’s definitely the coolest place I have been so far! We are a great and homogeneous team in the heart of Brooklyn.

6. Finally, show us your favorite sleeve.

This is my favorite sleeve that I just did for myself. If you see this sleeve on the Subway you will know its me :).

Sleeve of the Week: The Milky Way

You might asks yourself what today’s Sleeve of the Week features? Maybe a galaxy or just some planets? Well, the beautiful picture decorating the sleeve shows an illustration of the Milky Way. The picture is based on observations from the Hubble space telescope and several other ground-based telescops. You can find the picture on the official Nasa website.

Team Portrait: Klaus

Another week is over and it is time for our second team portrait. Last week we introduced our designer Emiliy. Today it’s time to introduce our co-founder Klaus exclusively to you guys:

1. Tell us a little about yourself?

I love to be anywhere and nowhere: I studied in Germany and Chile, worked in Asia and the States and lived in Spain and England. Besides my obsession of traveling, there is tennis, European team handball and many other sports I’m crazy about. I’m really into playing the trumpet and piano and while being in New York I constantly miss good traditional German food.

2. Winter or summer?

Winter, absolutely! Best season of the year with everything covered in white!

3. slim or classic and of course what is your design?

I actually prefer the classic sleeve as I kinda use it for my laptop on serious occasions but also in my free time The rectangular shape gives back a little bit of conservatism.

4. What is your sport?

Tennis , no doubt about it. I try to play 3 times a week or even more but finding courts in New York City is quite challenging plus there’s always this freakin wait!!!

5. What are your wishes for caseable?

To successfully create a platform that people use to have their own inspirations printed on sleeves PLUS to become way better than InCase ;)

Team Portrait: Emily

Today caseable presents the first posts of our new weekly series: “Behind the Scenes: Team Portraits”. The first chosen one is our designer Emily, who will tell you a little bit about herself and present one of her favorite sleeves. Spotlight on Emily!

1. Tell us a little about yourself?Emily

I am originally from New York and I study IndustrialDesign at Pratt Institute. I like to make things, ranging from computer cases, lamps, and little square paintings, to delicious sausages and sandwiches. My newest passion is a 1930s sewing machine that weighs as much as a small person!

2. What’s your job at caseable?

I am the design intern at caseable. I do a combination of graphic design and product design. My favorite task right now is developing our newest product— the iPad case– and sewing up prototypes on my lovely sewing machine! The final design is going to be pretty great, if I do say so myself.

3. What’s it like working for caseable?

Working for caseable is fun! My co-workers are very cool, relaxed people. I think we make a great team– everyone brings their own unique talents and interests to the table.

4. What super hero ability would you like to have?

Teleportation– so I could travel lots, AND I wouldn’t have to ride my bike through the scary Brooklyn traffic to get to work. Seriously, what is up with those intersections???

5. What is your sport?

Don’t laugh… but it’s juggling! I just learned how to juggle clubs over the summer.

6. Finally, show us your favorite sleeve.

I don’t know if I have a favorite yet… But here’s one I just made that I like very much. The graphic is a close-up from a little painting I did.

Sleeve of the Week: NYC Metro

Welcome to the premiere of our new weekly post series “Sleeve of the Week”. This series will feature the coolest sleeve designs exclusively created by you guys, as soon as we have launched. Until then we will show you our hottest prototypes. Enjoy!

Our first sleeve of the week is not only an amazing protection for your laptop, but will also help you in case you’ll ever get lost in the New York City Subway. Even for locals the sheer endless number of stops and transfers can be confusing: Well, no case to worry anymore with this cool laptop sleeve, showing the NYC Subway map containing all 5 boroughs.

Please excuse us for not having more professional photos yet, we are still a small company and really busy at the moment, but we’ll get some cool photos straight after the launch. Promise.

Goodbye Basti

Last week was Bastian’s last day at the caseable office here in US. Our ever amazing friend and intern left for Germany to make caseable reality on the old continent.

For his farewell, we got him a helicopter, as you might know from his bio, he’s crazy about maneuvering those around.;)

Basti, you’ll be greatly missed here in New York. Thanks so much for all your help – we can’t say how happy we are that you’re staying with caseable Germany! Enjoy…
