One of the many perks of fall season is gazing up at the sky to see more than the stars and the moon. Yesterday, people got to see the Northern Lights in places where it’s usually too far to reach. According to Spaceweather.com the auroras were photographed and seen in in more than half of all US states. Some included Alabama, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and even New York to name a few.

This picture was taken by Randy Halverson who spotted the aurora in Wisconsin.

Not only that, over the past weekend the Orionid meteor shower was at it’s peak.

If you missed the viewing of last weekend’s meteor shower have no fear there’s more lined up. According to earthsky.org mark your calendars and prepare for a late night on,
November 5-6 & November 11-12:The South and North Taurids
November 17-18: The Leonid meteor shower
December 13-14: Geminids
